Embedded Software Programmer

The Embedded Software Programmer will be pivotal in a small team developing and testing software for system control and networking on an embedded platform for communications equipment marketed to leading telecommunications companies. Tasks include user and management interface software development as well as low level implementation of hardware interfaces. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in embedded systems in C. Experience with networking telecommunications products and SNMP v.1 or v.3 implementations is a plus.


Responsibilities:

  • Code development, unit and system testing, and configuration control of embedded software
  • Develop design documentation and manage software requirements definition
  • Development of remote upgrades and flash memory management
  • Liaise with customers to resolve network connectivity issues with product
  • Implement necessary protocols


Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in embedded systems software development required.
  • Knowledge of embedded networking protocols desirable.
  • Candidate must have experience implementing user interfaces and html servers on embedded processors.
  • Understanding TCP/IP and stack development is required.
  • Ability to work as an independent software developer managing the full spectrum of design and development responsibilities is a must.
  • Design experience with radio equipment is desirable.
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a startup environment.

Field Support Engineer

We are growing venture-backed start-up company, located in San Diego, developing and marketing ultra-high capacity millimeter-wave point-to-point radios for IP-based carrier networks.  We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to be a member of a small team to assist with supporting sales efforts of the wireless transmission equipment.

Position Description:

The Field Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to our customers designing and deploying wireless broadband networks. The Field Engineer will work closely with our customers in close cooperation with our sales, product management, engineering and operations teams to ensure that we provide sound technical solutions to customer's needs. Dependent on location, this position requires up to 80% travel, both domestic and international.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission point-to-point wireless equipment and train customer representatives.
  •  Answer customer support calls and troubleshoot problems over the telephone, via IM or e-mail.
  • Qualify and authorize product RMAs.
  • Contribute to Installation and Troubleshooting guides and manuals and other technical product documentation.
  • Evaluate, validate, and present technical solutions to customers.
  • Lead technical question and answer discussions with prospects and customers.
  • Partner internally with all departments to support the customers' technical needs.
  • Work with all levels of contacts within customer organizations, including C-level.
  • Ensure that products are successfully installed and accurate as sold to the customer.
  • Provide ongoing post-sales technical support to customers and look for opportunities to strengthen the partnership relationship.
  • Look for industry trends with customers and relay the information to the appropriate internal contacts.
  • Make suggestions and inputs for Product Roadmap

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in installation, configuration, alignment, and commissioning of broadband RF systems with emphasis on point-to-point microwave radios in the 6 -40 GHz bands (80GHz band experience a plus)
  • Minimum associate degree or extensive practical experience
  • Knowledge and experience in installation and configuration of LAN/WAN and IP networks
  • Proven leadership ability and knowledge of wireless industry required.
  • Previous start up company experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
