Minerva to Market, Sell, and Support E-Band's GigE Broadband Wireless Products in Middle East, Pakistan and Africa
San Diego, CA - December 1, 2008 - E-Band Communications Corp., a leading developer of multi-gigabit capacity wireless communication systems based on 70/80 GHz millimeter wave radio technology, today announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Minerva, a value-added distributor based in Dubai. Minerva will market E-Band Communications' line of Gigabit Ethernet wireless products throughout the Middle East, Pakistan and Africa.
"E-Band has the highest performance 70/80GHz GigE product on the market, with a 10dB link budget improvement over their nearest competitor," said Alexander Allen, CEO of Minerva. "Our channel partners are always looking for the best wireless products available, and E-Band's solution provides our partners with the high capacity radio that they need to provide a robust backbone for their network."
E-Band's technology provides solutions for interconnection and backhaul of 4G, WiMAX, LTE, and other mobile networks. As well as, Gigabit Ethernet links for access network connections, last mile access, fiber backup, and network extension applications. In addition, with E-Band's Layer 1 only approach, their solution also supports other high capacity interfaces such as OBSAI, CPRI, SerRF, etc. for such applications as Distributed Antennas Systems (DAS), or Remote Radio Heads (RRH).
E-Band's Layer 1 only approach creates a simpler network, where the wireless links act more like a piece of fiber than a complicated network element. This allows the end customer to have a common network architecture whether they are using their own fiber, someone else's dark fiber or E-Band's GigE wireless links. This approach also allows for quick and easy installation into any existing network, which makes this solution a fantastic disaster recovery solution.
"Minerva has a proven ability to expand the GigE wireless market throughout the Middle East, Pakistan and Africa" said Kirk Byles, Vice President of Global Sales at E-Band. "Their focus on combining technology with a community of wireless resellers represents considerable value to E-Band and we are enthusiastic about working together with our new partner."
