Nikkei Electronics Asia -- January 2009
Demand for upper millimeter wave, or E-band, radios is expected to increase dramatically over the next few years. One of the primary markets driving this demand is mobile communications network backhaul. With consumers using more data intensive applications such as video streaming on their cell phones, operators will be forced to find more bandwidth for the backhaul infrastructure of their next-generation networks. The relative cheapness and high-bandwidth of E-band has made it a strong new player in this backhaul market.
